Relief fails 51s again; Gagne on the way

For 51s fans tired of seeing Las Vegas' relief pitching struggle -- good news. Help is on the way.
51s manager Jerry Royster confirmed Thursday that Dodgers closer Eric Gagne will make three relief apperances with Las Vegas this month.
Gagne is tentatively scheduled to join the 51s on May 14 at Nashville, then pitch against the Sounds on May 16.
He'll then take an off day before rejoining the 51s in Las Vegas against the Albuquerque Isotopes, Royster said.
Late-inning runs hurt the 51s again Thursday, as Adam Shabala's eighth-inning double brought home Clark High graduate Brian Dallimore for the go-ahead run in Fresno's 4-2 win against Las Vegas in front of an announced crowd of 4,214 at Cashman Field.
Pat Mahomes took the loss, giving up six hits and three runs in eight innings.
He also had the 51s' first run in the third inning. Tony Schrager drew an RBI walk in the fifth inning for the 51s' final run.
Jack Taschner got the win for Fresno.
