There's one fewer team in the Phil Jackson sweepstakes as Jackson will not have further conversations about becoming the Cleveland Cavaliers' coach, sources said Monday.
Although Jackson had dinner with Lakers owner Jerry Buss last Tuesday, his former team still hadn't made official contact with Jackson about their job as of Monday.
Jackson met with New York Knicks president Isiah Thomas on April 25 and took part in a conference call with Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert on Thursday.
The Portland Trail Blazers are the other possible suitor for Jackson, who likely will wait to see what jobs open after the playoffs. The Lakers and Knicks also are interested in Detroit coach Larry Brown and former Minnesota coach Flip Saunders.
Anthony received a flagrant foul and was ejected with 22 seconds left in the fourth period of the Nuggets' 86-78 loss Saturday.
