Two killed as car crashes
Two 21-year-old Las Vegas residents were killed Saturday morning when their car plunged 30 feet off Sunset Road near the McCarran International Airport tunnel, Metro Police said.
The victims were identified as Kyle R. Anderson and Stacey Pfeiffer, both 21 of Las Vegas.
The 2003 Mitsubishi was traveling west on Sunset near Paradise Road about 6 a.m. when the driver apparently lost control of the car, police said. The vehicle drifted off the road to the right, up onto a curb, then drove through a barrier fence over a concrete retaining wall, police said.
The Mitsubishi traveled more than 90 feet through the air and crashed to the ground on its roof, police said.
The two were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Man critically injured in crash
Metro Police are investigating a traffic collision that occurred Sunday morning in which a 47-year-old Las Vegas man was critically injured and an infant in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Police say Randy Wynn and the child were traveling southbound on Lamb Boulevard about 10:30 a.m. Sunday when his 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier collided with a 1997 Ford pickup truck pulling out of a Home Depot.
It appears the driver of the pickup, Paul Woods, 54, failed to yield to Wynn's vehicle and he was cited, police said. Woods sustained only minor injuries. All of the injured were transported to University Medical Center.
Pedestrian hurt on Flamingo Road
A jaywalker was critically injured Saturday when he was hit by a pickup truck on Flamingo Road near Paradise Road, Metro Police said.
The victim, whose name was not available this morning, was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup as he crossed Flamingo about 1 a.m.
Driver Paul Enciso, 33, and his passenger were not hurt. The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center.
Speed blamed in auto accident
A 19-year-old North Las Vegas woman remained in serious but stable condition at University Medical Center this morning with injuries suffered Friday when she flipped her car, officials said.
North Las Vegas Police say Brandie Blalock was traveling northbound in a Mazda Protege on Decatur Boulevard at a high rate of speed about 12:30 a.m. Friday. Police said the vehicle rolled over several times before Blalock was ejected from the car.
Excessive speed was likely the cause of the crash, police said.
A man found shot dead Friday
in a North Las Vegas street has been identified as 29-year-old Jason Lee Edge, the coroner's office said. Edge was found at 3:26 a.m. in the 3500 block of Mercury Street near Civic Center Drive and Cheyenne Avenue, police said.
