LeNorthern H. 'Angel' Brewer

LeNorthern H. "Angel" Brewer, 48, of North Las Vegas died March 23 in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1956, in Michigan. A resident for 45 years, she was a registrar for the Clark County School District at Southwest Behavior Center.

She is survived by her husband, Michael G.; four daughters, Jeuckinda Brewer and Eliza Brewer, both of Las Vegas, Shakinda Brewer-Spaight of North Las Vegas and Georgette Brewer of Glendale, Calif.; her mother, Eliza Henry of Las Vegas; five brothers, the Rev. John Henry Jr. of Chicago, Van P. Henry, Enoch Henry, Mark Henry and Timothy Henry, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Janice Hill of North Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 7 p.m. service Friday at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1165 Lawry Ave. Another service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Virginia 'Teddy' Fenton

Virginia "Teddy" Fenton, 88, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 2, 1916, in North Dakota. A resident for 73 years, she was a retired landlord and a charter member of the Boulder City Historical Museum.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Gillard of Los Angeles; two sons, David Fenton of Los Angeles and Richard Fenton of Boulder City; and five grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Boulder City Historical Museum, 1305 Arizona St., Boulder City, NV 89005.

Vivian D. Haslip

Vivian D. Haslip, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born June 9, 1935, in Birmingham, Ala. A resident for six years, she was a retired school vice principal.

She is survived by one son, Erskine C. Haslip of Chicago; two daughters, Theldria Faye Wilson of Detroit and Lori Haslip of Las Vegas; three sisters, Jerome Scales of Birmingham, Awilda Young of Burke, Va., and Imo Taylor of Saginaw, Mich.; one brother, Talmadge Scales of Detroit; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Patricia M. McRight

Patricia M. McRight, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1940, in Lynchburg, Va. A resident for 20 years, she was a radio account executive in the advertising industry and a member of Working in Communications.

She is survived by one daughter, Leslie K. Lucado, and one son, Todd M. Lucado, both of Lynchburg; two sisters, Nanci L. Anderson of Killeen, Texas, and Sue Kane of Frisco, Texas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Betty Jo Onstot

Betty Jo Onstot, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 1, 1929, in Lennox, Calif. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mesquite Club.

She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Joyce Weber of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Onstot of Las Vegas and John Henry Onstot Jr. of Sacramento; three sisters, Myra Linchan of Palm Springs, Calif., Carol Perrine of Yuma, Ariz., and Ethel Eggers of Maryville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Leland Virl Scott Sr.

Leland Virl Scott Sr., 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 14, 1955, in Salt Lake, Utah. A resident for 35 years, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sally; two daughters, Heidi Potter of Nevada and Christina A. White of Texas; three sons, Leland Scott Jr., Wade M. Scott and Evan S. Scott, all of Nevada; his father, Virl B. Scott of Las Vegas; three sisters, Virlene Atwood of Utah and Laurene Marchant and Diane Fantazzi, both of Nevada; two brothers, Byron Scott and Dwayne Scott, both of Nevada; and three grandchildren.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Thomas Edward Smith

Thomas Edward Smith, 61, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born in Paulsboro, N.J. He was employed in human services by the Division of Civil Rights in Washington, D.C., earned his bachelor's degree at Glassboro State College and his master's at Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University. He helped organize the Wescott/Syracuse Jazz Festival, worked for the New York Council of the Arts, was a composer and pianist and his jazz quartet opened for Ella Fitzgerald at Buffalo Shea Theater.

He is survived by two sons, Tremond Edward of Washington and Edric Hayden of Syracuse, N.Y.; his parents, Etta Smith of Woodbury, N.Y., and Thomas C. Smith of Deptford, N.Y.; one brother, Terence Smith of Woodbury; and three sisters, Patricia Smith of Pennsauken, N.Y., JoAnn Robinson of Williamstown, N.Y., and Guynell Smith-Lopez of Franklinville, N.Y.

McGuinness Funeral Home, Woodbury, is handling arrangements.

Willard L. Witt Jr.

Willard L. Witt Jr., 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1924, in Graham, Texas. A resident for 65 years, he was a retired geologist for the Interior Department, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Elks.

He is survived by one son, Dr. Mark Witt of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mickey Stockwell of Boulder, Colo., and Brenda Witt of San Antonio; three brothers, Tick Witt of Sacramento, Everett Witt of Novato, Calif., and Bill Witt of Carson City; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is private. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Rita A. Woods

Rita A. Woods, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born April 15, 1939, in Utah. A resident for five years, she was a retired parking garage cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Debbie Robichaud of Englewood, Colo., and Sharon McDonald of West Valley City, Utah; and three grandchildren.
