Mary E. 'Queen of Slots' Bellman
Mary E. "Queen of Slots" Bellman, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Paterson, N.J. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired casino dealer.
She is survived by one son, Ralph Bellman of Florida; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Rebecca Ann Bullard
Rebecca Ann Bullard, 66, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Guthrie County, Iowa. A resident for 44 years, she was a real estate broker.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; one daughter, Barbara Kohler of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; one son, Jay Bullard, and one sister, Karen Mulcahy, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Ron Kopeska of Minneapolis; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ruth Parsons David
Ruth Parsons David, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 19, 1917, in Ridley Park, Pa. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired payroll clerk.
She is survived by two sons, Ted David of Hyattsville, Md., and Frederick B. David of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Carol D. Shaffer of Henderson; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. today in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 4709 S. Nellis Blvd.

George William Day
George William Day, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 10, 1919, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired civil service machinist and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Chapman of North Las Vegas and Beverly Simo of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Marie L. Dawson
Marie L. Dawson, 84, of Henderson died Saturday in a local care center. She was born April 11, 1920, in New Haven, Conn. A resident for five years, she was a retired waitress.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. Dawson, and two sisters, Ellie Knapp and Corinne Scharff, all of Henderson; three brothers, Robert Scharff of Henderson, Frederick Scharff of New Monmouth, N.J., and Joseph Scharff of Santa Clarita, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Richard E. Fischer
Richard E. Fischer, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Minneapolis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired supply manager and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Robin; two sons, Joseph Fischer of Mound, Minn., and Donald Fischer of Long Lake, Minn.; two daughters, Kandis Cook of Schereville, Ind., and Christine Fischer of Las Vegas; one sister, Donna Breen of Cannon Falls, Minn.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Alex Haynes Jr.
Alex Haynes Jr., 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Tennessee. A resident for 45 years, he was a maintenance worker in a bakery.
He is survived by three daughters, Teriane Ladd, Emma Florial and Janie Jackson, all of Las Vegas; five sons, Sherman Haynes of Kansas City, Mo., Timothy Haynes and Darell Haynes, both of Atlanta and Titus Haynes and Gregory Haynes, both of Las Vegas; and 30 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Thomas and Jones. Burial will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Warner Heacox
Warner Heacox, 88, of Henderson died Friday in a veterans' care center. He was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Derry, Pa. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired railroad freight conductor, a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Henderson Post.
He is survived by eight daughters; and 19 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Jung B. Hildreth
Jung B. Hildreth, 71, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Kyonggi-Do. A resident of the Las Vegas Valley for 12 years and most recently a North Las Vegas resident for two years, she was a retired hairdresser.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; one daughter, Ruth Edwards of North Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Services were 2:30 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Albert F. Kanyer Sr.
Albert F. Kanyer Sr., 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Belleville, Ill. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired railroad fireman.
He is survived by three sons, Albert F. Kanyer Jr. of Las Vegas, John J. Kanyer of Valencia, Calif., and James P. Kanyer of San Dimas, Calif.; two daughters, Virginia M. Israel of Kettle Falls, Wash., and Cynthia K. Fallon of Divide, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Maxine E. Killgore
Maxine E. Killgore, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 20, 1923, in Elida, N.M. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired telephone operator.
She is survived by three sisters, Lucille Laughlin of Clovis, N.M., Chris Barnett of Portales, N.M., and Lavon Fassauer of Canyon, Texas.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Richard Levine
Richard Levine, 62, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. A government accountant and a Vietnam War Army veteran, he was born April 10, 1942, in the Bronx, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; and one daughter, Meryl Levine of Voorhees, N.J.
Services and burial were 2 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.
Melvyn 'Mel' Levy
Melvyn "Mel" Levy, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired tool and dye machinist, a Korean War Air Force veteran, a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, In Defense of Animals and the Gorilla Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; one daughter, Marci Ann Levy-Rosenberg, and one son, Marc Alan Levy, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Edith Wolf of Florida; and two grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Graveside services will be in Arizona. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Shellie Reamay Love-Brown
Shellie Reamay Love-Brown, 37, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a retired bartender and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
She is survived by two daughters, Serena Zook and Reamay Brown, her parents, Barbara and Jay Love, three sisters, Dianne Love, Debbie Love and Pennie Mazzeo, and five brothers, Dana Love, Donald Love, TJ Love, David Love and Brandon Love.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Ralph J. Messel
Ralph J. Messel, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1916, in Silver Creek, N.Y. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired steel loader.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette; one daughter, Louise M. Kumro of Palm Harbor, Fla.; one son, Ralph J. Messel Jr. of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Harold D. Murray
Harold D. Murray, 72, of Las Vegas died March 22 in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Delta, Utah. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired parts expediter for a heavy equipment company and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Valeen G.; two daughters, Judy Brown of North Logan, Utah, and Annette M. Brown of Las Vegas; four sons, David Murray, Douglas K. Murray and Jeffrey B. Murray, all of Las Vegas and Michael T. Murray of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Hugh L. Murray of Bakersfield, Calif., and Karl E. Murray of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Charlotte R. Smith of Bakersfield; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3200 Mustang Road. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.
Charles Nagel
Charles Nagel, 95, of Santa Barbara, Calif., died Sunday in Santa Barbara. He was born Sept. 1, 1909, in Butte, Mont. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a 1943 graduate of Montana State College in Bozeman, became assistant professor in health and physical education, was a football, basketball and track coach, assistant professor at UCLA and USC while earning his masters of arts degree and doctor of philosophy degree in education, assistant athletic director at UCLA and athletic director at the University of California, San Jose, general curriculum coordinator for the Marin County School District in health education, an Army veteran from 1943-45 in special services for Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, assisted in the reconstruction of the Olympic Stadium in Frankfurt, Germany, published five books, taught Nautilus in Santa Barbara and was a member of the Sigma C hi fraternity where he received the highest award of recognition, the Order of Constantine.
He is survived by one daughter, Charlene Nagel of Santa Barbara.

Jennifer Hawn Smith and Steven Edward Smith
Jennifer Hawn Smith, 31, and her husband, Steven Edward Smith, 33, died Sunday in a car accident in Georgia.
She was born in St. Joseph, Mich., was a Boulder City High School graduate, attended the University of Georgia and worked for State Farm Insurance.
He was born in Athens, Ga., and was employed with Dover Securities.
Steven and Jennifer are survived by their two daughters, Makayla Renee Smith and Kirsten Nola Smith.
Jennifer is further survived by her mother, Debbie Connell of Conyers, Ga.; her father, Christopher Alex Hawn of Eau Claire, Mich.; a half-brother, Tosh Mason of Portland, Ore.; her grandparents, Joe and Cora Lou Nichols of Covington, Ga.; Jim Hawn of Avon Park, Fla., and Kay Hawn of Eau Claire.
Steven is further survived by his parents, Roger Dale and Brenda Southers Smith, and one sister, Stephanie Crowe, all of Crawford, Ga.; and his grandmother, Joyce Southers of Arnoldsville, Ga.
No local services are scheduled. Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, Crawford, is handling arrangements.

Lorraine Fredrickson Waid
Lorraine Fredrickson Waid, 72, of Decherd, Tenn., died March 18 in a Tennessee hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Cottonwood, Utah. A former Las Vegas resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Ryan Studd of Bethpage, Tenn., Matthew Studd of Woodbury, Tenn., and Gordon Waid; three daughters, Laura Bigalow of Decherd, Heidi Causey of Buffalo, Wyo., and Maralyn Fryberger of Hampton Cove, Ala.; three stepsons, Paul Waid of Russell, Pa., Edward G. Waid of Jamestown, N.Y., and Bruce Waid of Kentucky.; one stepdaughter, Rosemary Fannin of Warren, Pa.; three brothers, Kenneth Fredrickson of Conifer, Colo., Ralph Fredrickson of Uba City, Calif., and Steve Fredrickson of Las Vegas; one sister, Janet Webster of Granite Bay, Calif.; 39 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services were in Tennessee. Lynchburg Funeral Home, 1630 Fayetteville Highway, Lynchburg, handled arrangements.

Mary V. Waiksnis
Mary V. Waiksnis, 99, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 13, 1905, in Pennsylvania. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by five sons, John and Joseph, both of Henderson, Michael and Leonard, both of Florida and William of California; one daughter, Mary Weed of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be in Connecticut. Larsen's Funeral Home, Bridgeport, Conn., is handling arrangements. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled local arrangements.
Charles A. Wickerling
Charles A. Wickerling, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Minnesota. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired poultry salesman and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
