A story in Tuesday's edition about attempts by Washington, D.C., to ban freight trains carrying hazardous materials near the Capitol included information about a Las Vegas ordinance advocated by Mayor Oscar Goodman and approved by the City Council in 2000 that would ban nuclear waste shipments in the city. Asked to review the measure by the Clark County Commission, which was interested in the proposal, the district attorney's office said it was not constitutional. But the measure has not been tested in court.
