It is nature, he said, that endowed him with "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Well, sorry, but nature is not about those three precious concepts; it is about survival of the fittest. Ask the gazelle in the jaws of a lion.
It is through God that man is blessed with a free, self-conscious, rational and moral personality, something nature could never provide.
Further, Peele claims that government is empowered by the people. To an extent, that is true. Without God as a foundation, however, there is no absolute truth, and morality becomes a matter of opinion. At that point you end up with governments such as those in Nazi Germany and the former Soviet Union.
