Linda A. Allen

Linda A. Allen, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born March 7, 1950, in McCook, Neb. A resident for one year, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by one sister, Myrna Barratt of Las Vegas.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Esther Carmin

Esther Carmin, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 22, 1913, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Lynnda Carmin and Ruth Wargo, both of Las Vegas, and Benita Klein of Sunrise, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Monday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

The family suggests donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southern Nevada, 1919 S. Jones Blvd., Suite G, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

Jeffery Lamont Edwards

Jeffery Lamont Edwards, 31, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 23, 1973, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a dishwasher at a restaurant.

He is survived by his mother, Willie B. Edwards, his father, J.L. Doss, four brothers, Steven Edwards, Laron Edwards, Terry Doss and Micheal Doss, and four sisters, LaVonne Edwards, Melody Doss, Joyce Coleman and Caroline Sims, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will be in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens,6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Miriam 'Mim' Hartstein

Miriam "Mim" Hartstein, 78, of Las Vegas died March 6 in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 29, 1926, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, she was an executive secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; one son, Gary Hartstein; one daughter, Karen Avilez; and one granddaughter.

Graveside services were in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Murray L. Rosen Post 64, Jewish War Veterans of Southern Nevada, 228-0881.

Harry Jensen

Harry Jensen, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born March 10, 1913, in Copenhagen, Denmark. A resident for 56 years, he was a retired cargo ship purser.

He is survived by his wife, Rachelle; and one son, Carl Jensen of Las Vegas.

Services will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Nancy M. Kavinsky

Nancy M. Kavinsky, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 20, 1934, in Dansville, N.Y. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James J.; two sons, William Zelonis and Gary Zelonis, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Sorg of West Seneca, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be March 31 in Palm Memorial Park.

Phyllis F. Koster

Phyllis F. Koster, 73, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and was retired.

She was preceded in death by one son, David.

She is survived by six daughters, Rona Vogel and Mary Lynn Koster, both of Boulder City, Janet Amos of Henderson, Kathleen Bill of Mankato, Minn., Dianne Porter of Parker, Colo., and Karen Pick of Mendota Heights, Minn.; one son, Chad Koster of Boulder City; one brother, Robert Nelson of Manson, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Christ Lutheran Church, 1401 Fifth St., Boulder City. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

Alma McKnight Monday

Alma McKnight Monday, 86, of Las Vegas died March 15 in a local hospital. She was born March 31, 1918, in Lawrence, Miss. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Lee White, Geneva T. Atkins, Luella Jackson and Luta P. McClay, and one son, Demus McKnight, all of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, 1439 Lawry Ave. Burial will follow Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. East ern Ave.

Michael Alan Sadler

Michael Alan Sadler, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 12, 1947, in Chicago. A resident for 42 years, he was a hotel security guard and an Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Maureen DeRicco.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karla; three daughters, Tracy Nelson, Michelle Lantz and Carissa Sadler, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Marilyn Krelle of Chicago and Sharon McGinnis and Linda McCormick, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Carl Sadler of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will be private.

Loa Nelson Steed

Loa Nelson Steed, 84, of Las Vegas died March 12 in Las Vegas. She was born March 27, 1920, in Sandy, Utah. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jaleen Makela; and one son, Joal Steed.

She is survived by one daughter, Launa Denning of Milliken, Colo.; two sons, Val Steed of Las Vegas and Bryan Steed of Cedar City, Utah; one sister, Roxie Rich of South Jordan, Utah; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ta'Najha Sarae Terry

Ta'Najha Sarae Terry, 4 days, of Las Vegas died March 16 in a local hospital. She was born March 12.

She is survived by her mother, Queshan Terry of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

William H. Wooten

William H. Wooten, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 30, 1925, in Kansas. A resident for two years, he was a pipefitter for an oil company and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Frederick Wooten of California, Timothy Crooks of Arizona and Jeffery Wooten of Las Vegas; one daughter, Hope Wooten of Las Vegas; one brother, Horace Wooten of California; four sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Maude Wooten, both of Kansas, and Olivia Griffin and Emma Gardner, both of Missouri; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
