President of Flamingo to join MGM Mirage
Wednesday, March 23, 2005 | 11:37 a.m.
Lorenzo Creighton, president of the Flamingo Las Vegas, has resigned his post at Caesars Entertainment Inc. to join the top management at MGM Mirage's New York-New York resort across the Strip, according to sources familiar with the move.
MGM Mirage spokeswoman Yvette Monet declined to discuss property management changes. The company has so far only revealed executive management positions in the wake of its $7.9 billion acquisition of Mandalay Resort Group.
Harrah's Entertainment Inc., meanwhile, expects to complete its $9.4 billion acquisition of Caesars Entertainment Inc. by the end of June.
Senior Vice President of Marketing Steven N. Rosen has become interim president of the Flamingo. Rosen will be involved in guiding the Flamingo through the closing of the Harrah's deal.
Harrah's is expected to determine a successor to Creighton.
Creighton and Rosen could not be reached for comment.
In a statement today, Caesars Entertainment Chief Executive Wally Barr praised Creighton's "distinguished record of service" to the company beginning in 1995 when he was named senior vice president and general manager of Bally's New Orleans.
Rosen joined Caesars as a marketing executive when the company was created as Park Place Entertainment Corp. in 1998. He had previously worked at Harrah's Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
