Letter: Hypocrisy in culture of life

Wednesday, March 23, 2005 | 9:11 a.m.

Over the weekend President George W. Bush flew back to Washington, D.C., to sign legislation in hopes of keeping Terri Schiavo, a woman who has been in a persistent vegetative state, alive. Bush says, "It is wise to always err on the side of life."

Supporting life is one of the key principles of the GOP, but it supports the death penalty. Supporting life is one of the key principles of the GOP, yet it opposes stem cell research. Supporting life is one of the key principles of the GOP, but it seeks to cut Medicaid benefits.

When are people going to realize the hypocrisy of George W. Bush and the Republican Party?
