Estelle Mary Bartizal
Estelle Mary Bartizal, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born May 14, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Keane Bartizal of Westminster, Md., and Dennis Bartizal of Glendale Heights, Ill.; one brother, Alex Kigas of Burbank, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated noon Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will be in Illinois.
Donald W. Bongers
Donald W. Bongers, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Wisconsin. A resident for 20 years, he was an administrative assistant for California state government, a Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Jerry and Donald; one daughter, Karen; and five grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.
Miriam 'Mim' Hartstein
Miriam "Mim" Hartstein, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 29, 1926, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, she was an executive secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Harry; one son, Gary Hartstein; and one daughter, Jill Avilez.
Graveside services were in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Murray L. Rosen Post 64, Jewish War Veterans of Southern Nevada, 242-1552.
Hope Makransky
Hope Makransky, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born March 1, 1942, in Philadelphia. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a a trade show saleswoman.
She is survived by one son, Steven Makransky of Las Vegas; and two daughters, Sheri Makransky of Las Vegas and Lisa Makransky of Cherry Hill, N.J.
King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Phyllis W. Mayne
Phyllis W. Mayne, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born June 1, 1930, in New York City. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired statistician in the aerospace industry.
She is survived by one daughter, Katherine Eastman of Las Vegas; one son, Lance Mayne of Key Largo, Fla.; one brother, Ronald Schorr of Lawrence, Kan.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Sarah Juanita McGlamery
Sarah Juanita McGlamery, 90, of Dallas died Friday in Dallas. She was born March 2, 1915, in Ada, Okla. A former Las Vegas resident, she was an interpreter for the deaf, she began the ministry for the deaf at First Southern Baptist Church in Las Vegas, interpreted the local news on TV for the hearing impaired, taught sign language and sewing classes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, M.E. McGlamery; one son, Marshall Norman; and one granddaughter, Shelly Grantham.
She is survived by three daughters, Sarah Grantham and Susan Dudley, both of Dallas, and Judy Brennan of Richardson, Texas; one sister, Anna Carroll Lindsey of Gilmer, Texas; and 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Laurel Land Funeral Home, Dallas, is handling arrangements.

Curtis 'Pete' McLemore
Curtis "Pete" McLemore, 77, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Mississippi. A resident for 63 years, he was a retired cement finisher and senior assistant pastor of New Birth Assembly Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie L.; six daughters, Georgia Jackson, Evelyn Reed and Shirley Nhalpo, all of Las Vegas, Ramona Felton of Moreno Valley, Calif., Mary Goodley of Colton, Calif., and Diane Haley of North Las Vegas; two sons, James Haley Jr. of Las Vegas and James Johnson of Highland, Calif.; two sisters, Irene Hibbetts of Henderson and Francis Simms of Oceanside, Calif.; three brothers, Larry Dunlap and Richard Dunlap, both of Las Vegas, and Charles Hicks of Mississippi; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-6 p.m. Tuesday in New Birth Baptist Assembly Church, 2200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Denveretta Charlotte McPherson
Denveretta Charlotte McPherson, 80, of Casper, Wyo., died March 14 in a Wyoming hospital. She was born July 3, 1924, in Osage, Wyo. A former Las Vegas resident for 30 years until 1992, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Past Matron's Club and Social Order of the Beauceant.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Eugene; one son, Denver Edward McPherson of Tampa, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Bustard Funeral Home, Casper, is handling arrangements.

Lois "Marie" Meinardi, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 25, 1931, in Texas. A resident for 31 years, she was a hair salon owner-operator and a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, John W.; and one brother, S.J. Cheshire of Texas.

Carol F. Mitchell
Carol F. Mitchell, 45, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. A homemaker, she was born March 23, 1959, in Little Rock, Ark.
She is survived by her husband, Kurt D.; five daughters, Shannon Mitchell, Sherry Mitchell, Crystal Mitchell, Amy Mitchell and Donna Mitchell, all of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Lottie M. O'Neil
Lottie M. O'Neil, 78, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Louisiana. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Danny O'Neil and Ed O'Neil, and two daughters, Diane Miller and Donna Hall, all of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be in San Diego. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Douglas E. Ryzdynski
Douglas E. Ryzdynski, 60, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Cincinnati. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired sales manager in the insurance industry and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Margie; one daughter, Ann Ryzdynski, and two sons, Scott Ryzdynski and Todd Ryzdynski, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Beulah Ryzdynski of San Diego; one brother, Mark Ryzdynski of Henderson; and one sister, Janet Ryzdynski of Carlsdad, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today with a 5:30 p.m. rosary and 6 p.m. vigil in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Robert E. Stewart, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1931, in New Castle, Pa. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired federal government machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; his mother, Edith Vessella of Las Vegas; and three daughters, Deborah Courtney of Arizona, Karen Senecal of Utah and Sandra McCaslin of California.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Kiongkien Tio
Kiongkien Tio, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Indonesia. A resident for eight years, he was a mechanical engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Nan Jang Nio Tan; three sons, Hong Tie Tio, Hong Hwie Tio and Hong Boen Tio; five daughters, Hong Lie Skippen, Hong Sian McElroy, Hong Ien Tio, Jane Tanajo Tio and Hong Kiauw Tio; and 17 grandchildren.

Naida I. Upjohn
Naida I. Upjohn, 89, of Boulder City died Friday in a local hospice. She was born July 9, 1915, in San Pedro, Calif. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Charleen Hull of Las Vegas and Karen Sheridan of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming St., Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Melvin 'Andy' Vassar
Melvin "Andy" Vassar, 77, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born May 23, 1927, in Hartshorne, Okla. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired mill operator for a metal manufacturer and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Coralee; three daughters, Janet Dye, Carolyn Hammond and Constance Alanano, all of Henderson; two sisters, Elizabeth Savage of Henderson and Mary Harp of Loveland, Colo.; two brothers, Albert Vassar of Henderson and Mitchell Vasssar of Bishop, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
H. Earleen Wilson
H. Earleen Wilson, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Centerville, Iowa. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired antique dealer, a member of the American Legion and the Silver State chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandy J. Vitolo of Las Vegas and Mary E. Raffensberger of York, Pa.; one son, Tom E. Wilson of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Iowa. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
