Two exhibits

The exhibits "One Hundred Years of Influence: The Role of Women in Shaping the First 100 Years of Las Vegas" and "Essential Dimensions Juried Artist Competition" will open Saturday at the Las Vegas Art Museum, 9600 W. Sahara Ave., and continue until May 22. Admission is $6 adults, $5 seniors 55 and older, $3 students 13 and older, free for children 12 and under. 360-8000.

'Kids Korner'

"Kids Korner," an exhibit of elementary school students' artwork, will be on display until April 1 at Old Town Gallery, 10 W. Pacific Ave. Admission is free. 568-5655.

'History Project'

"The Winchester Neighborhood History Project" will be displayed from today to April 8 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is free. 455-7340.

'Shades West'

"Shades West," an exhibit featuring the work of Henderson artist Bill Rowe, will be on display until April 22 at the Gallery at Liberty Pointe, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway. Admission is free. 267-4055.

'Space'

"Occupied Space: Connecting Artists with Public Spaces," featuring two- and three-dimensional works by local artists, will be on display until the end of June at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. Admission is free. 229-4631.

'Bright Light City'

"Bright Light City," a collection of artists' interpretations of Las Vegas, will be on display from today to May 15 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. An artists' reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the gallery. Admission is free. 229-6383.

Art competition

Submissions are being accepted for the May 1 "Art of the Bicycle" amateur art show sponsored by the Silver State Bicycle Coalition. Submissions will be accepted until April 25, and can be dropped off at Las Vegas Cyclery, 8221 W. Charleston Blvd. The fee for each work submitted is $5, and proceeds will be used to buy bicycle helmets the SSBC donates throughout the year. All art selected will be displayed at Jitters Gourmet Coffee, 8441 W. Lake Mead Blvd. 243-9477.

'Armada'

The UNLV Department of Art and the Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery will show Sean Russell's "Armada" until Saturday at UNLV's Donna Beam Art Gallery. Admission is free. 895-1575.

'Less is More'

Artists Marietta Hoferer and Jennifer Riley will have their works displayed in "Less is More" until April 30 at Dust Gallery, 1221 S. Main St. Admission is free. 880-3878.

Helga Blackford

The works of Henderson artist Helga Blackford will be displayed during March at the Lost City Museum in Overton. The museum is located on State Route 169 off I-15, exit, #93 or via Lake Mead or the Valley of Fire. Admission is $3 adults, $2 ages 65 and above, free for children and members. 397-2193.

Berenstain Bears

"Growing Up With the Berenstain Bears," an interactive, bilingual exhibit, will be held at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, until Aug. 28. Admission $7 adults, $6 children 1 through 17, seniors and military, free for children under 1. 382-3445.

Hirsch and Fritz
