Two men arrested in mystery killing

The unusual "head-scratcher" homicide involving a man who was found shot to death in a stranger's bathroom was apparently solved this week with the arrests of two alleged burglars, whom police said got into a dispute with a third burglar while searching the home for a woman who owed them money.

Albert Holguin, 23, of Henderson was arrested Tuesday and Wiljune Servando, 28, of North Las Vegas was arrested Monday in connection with the death of a 31-year-old man identified by the coroner's office as Priest Lamont Ofoegbu. Police referred to the victim as Priest Branch.

Metro Police Sgt. Rocky Alby said the homeowner, who lives in the 5500 block of Clubhouse Drive near Sahara Avenue and Nellis Boulevard, left his garage door open for about two hours while he was out on March 7.

When he returned, he found an unknown man dead in his bathroom with a gunshot wound in the forehead. The homeowner ran from the house and called 911.

Neighbors told police they saw a woman coming out of the garage carrying a rifle, the police report says. Detectives determined her identity and spoke to her and several other acquaintances, two of whom stayed at the house the night before the murder.

Holguin, Servando and Branch went to the house to find the 25-year-old woman, who owed them money and who had access to a laptop computer they wanted, police said.

All three of them had guns when they entered the house. Servando told police that Branch pulled a gun on him inside the house, and he admitted to hearing three or four gunshots but said he didn't fire his gun, the report says.

Servando said he saw Branch on the floor of the bathroom, bleeding.

Servando and Holguin are both being held in the Clark County Detention Center on charges of murder and burglary.
