Citing escalating costs, Clark County commissioners balked Tuesday in giving Henderson additional money for new Justice Court space.
The commission in July 2004 approved $9.5 million for courtrooms, but city officials came back this year and said escalating construction costs would now require the county to put in at least $12.5 million -- and the city said it could not put a cost cap on the project.
The commission said the project funding could not go forward without a cost cap. The board directed staff to continue negotiating with Henderson officials.
