Henderson plans water system work
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 | 10:48 a.m.
The Basic Water Co. will do maintenance work on its storage reservoirs in downtown Henderson Thursday and Friday, including emptying the reservoirs beginning Thursday morning, the company said.
Water service is not expected to be disrupted.
Basic Water, which supplies unprocessed water to the city and Black Mountain Industrial Complex, will empty 50,000 gallons from its 414 Water St. facility into the city's open and underground channel system.
The two-day project also involves washing down the reservoirs and making repairs, if needed, the company said.
The company said the release of the unprocessed water that originally came from Lake Mead poses no impact to the environment. The city and the state's Division of Environmental Protection will monitor the process to ensure compliance with local and state environmental requirements.
After the maintenance work, the reservoirs will be refilled, the company said.
