Winchester history subject of exhibit
Friday through April 8, the Winchester Cultural Center's Art Gallery, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, will be the home to the exhibit "The Winchester Neighborhood History Project."
The public is welcome to attend a reception for past and present local residents 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
During the reception, Winchester staff will be available to scan or digitally photograph any old photographs, clippings, or maps that locals are willing to share for posterity.
Also, if residents have interesting stories to share, they will be encouraged to let the staff know so they can record the stories at a later date.

Arbor Day trees to be given away
Ten free, white flowering dogwood trees will be given to each person who joins the National Arbor Day Foundation during March.
The free trees are part of the nonprofit Foundation's Trees for America campaign.
Members also receive a subscription to Arbor Day, the Foundation's monthly publication, and The Tree Book with information about tree planting and care.
To become a member of the Foundation and receive the free trees, send a $10 contribution to Ten Free Dogwood Trees, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, NE 68410, by March 31. Or go online to arborday.org.
Liberty Pointe hosts Shades West
The Gallery at Liberty Pointe, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway inside the Henderson Multigenerational Center, will host the exhibit "Shades West," through April 22. The exhibit features the work of Henderson artist Bill Rowe.
A public reception will be 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, at which attendees can meet the artist. The reception and exhibit are sponsored by the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department.

As part of the Movie in the Park,
"Fly Away Home" will be shown 6:30 p.m. Friday at Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions are available for sale. The movie will be canceled in case of inclement weather. Admission is free. Call 229-1607.
