Virginia K. Adams

Virginia K. Adams, 88, of Las Vegas died March 3 in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1916, in Milwaukee. A resident for many years, she was a retired insurance administrator.

She is survived by one brother, Jerome Klein of Brookfield, Wis.; and one nephew, Bob Klein of The Villages, Fla.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

Genora Bankston

Genora Bankston, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1923, in St. Louis. A resident for 16 1/2 years, she was a retired hospital dietitian.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Bankston of Las Vegas and Paul Bankston of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Additional visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Glendon E. Betts

Glendon E. Betts, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 19, 1926, in Bowling Green, Mo. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired federal government security inspector and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta M.; two sons, Kenneth L. Betts of Eugene, Ore., and Ralph K. Betts of Reno; three sisters, Pauline Grant of Hannibal, Mo., Eileen Brown of Grain Valley, Mo., and Willene Gamm of Bowling Green; and one brother, Bill Betts of Bowling Green.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Graveside services will be private.

Sharon Marie Borntrager

Sharon Marie Borntrager, 46, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1959, in Minnesota. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a purchasing agent and a member of the Scleroderma Foundation.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; one son, Garret; one sister, Becky Hawkes; three brothers, Gary Anderson, Rick Anderson and Donald Anderson Jr.; and two grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jeffrey Michael Burkhart

Jeffrey Michael Burkhart, 34, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 1, 1970, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 15 years, he was a casino bartender.

He is survived by his wife, Desirae; one stepdaughter, Courtney Dupaix of Henderson; his parents, Kathleen and James Burkhart Sr., and one brother, James Burkhart, all of Youngstown.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Paul F. Dalton

Paul F. Dalton, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Philadelphia. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired limousine chauffeur in the gaming industry and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen C.; and one daughter, Candace O'Mohundro of Palm Desert, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at noon Monday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway.

Michael Lee Darnell

Michael Lee Darnell, 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 15, 1959, in San Francisco. A resident for 41 years, he was a casino bartender.

He is survived by his mother, Mona Darnell.

John J. Demes Jr.

John J. Demes Jr., 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 13, 1950, in Patras, Greece. A resident for 50 years, he was a window cleaner at the Las Vegas Hilton.

He is survived by two sons, John J. Demes III and Nicholas G. Demes; two daughters, Loralee and Shawna; and two grandchildren.

Dana D. Fisher

Dana D. Fisher, 62, of Las Vegas died Feb. 27. He was born Sept. 20, 1942, in San Diego. A resident for one year, he was a pharmacist and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M.; one son, Scott C. Fisher of Las Vegas; and his parents, Betty F. and Vaughn F. Fisher, both of San Luis Obispo, Calif.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Dean F. Johanson

Dean F. Johanson, 79, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Iowa. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired federal government civil engineer, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Boulder City Elks Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine E.; one son, Wayne C. Johanson of Boulder City; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 11:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jacke Juhasz

Jacke Juhasz, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 1, 1921, in Gadsden, Ala. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired medical secretary.

She is survived by two daughters, Chris of Nevada and Sandra of Arizona; two sons, Rick of Nevada and Victor of New York; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

David F. Phillips

David F. Phillips, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 19, 1943, in Pasadena, Calif. A resident for 42 years, he was an electrician, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Martha Jo; one son, Michael Phillips, and one sister, Phyllis Van Leuven, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Maria Viscaino

Maria Viscaino, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 28, 1954, in Jalisco, Mexico. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel; five daughters, Luz Viscaino, Rosalva Viscaino, Maria Viscaino, Lorena Viscaino and Juana Viscaino, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Manuel Viscaino of Las Vegas and Magdaleno Viscaino of Orange County, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 a.m.-noon Sunday at 1316 Denarious Circle. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Jamaal Williams Jr.

Jamaal Williams Jr., 1 day old, died March 4. He was born March 3 in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Brown, his father, Jamaal Williams Sr., his grandparents, Roslyn Brown, Lisa and Rudy Williams Jr., and Anthony Clark, and his great-grandmothers, Angelia Kern and Doris Clark, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
