Charles Robert Anderson Jr.

Charles Robert Anderson Jr., 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 2, 1927, in Johnson City, Tenn. A resident for 19 years, he was a finance manager for the federal government and a 33rd degree Mason.

He is survived by two sons, Jameiro and Charles III; and one daughter, Yvonne.

Irene Black

Irene Black, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Delta, Utah. A resident for 80 years, she was a retired cosmetologist.

She is survived by two daughters, Shiela Black and Sandra Black-Hilsabeck, both of Las Vegas; three sons, William Black of Covington, Wash., John Black of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Dale Black of Las Vegas; three sisters, Annabelle Bigleman of Page, Ariz., Lois Hannig of Provo, Utah, and Louise Patterson of Henrieville, Utah; two brothers, Ralph Sprague of North Highland, Calif., and Lovell Sprague of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Friday in the LDS Hazelcrest Ward, 3901 Viking Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Edward Stoddard Clayson

Edward Stoddard Clayson, 81, of Henderson died Monday. He was born July 26, 1923, in Lake Shore, Utah. He served as a paratrooper during World War II and was a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by one son; Edward "Rex" Clayson of Diamondville, Wyo.; three daughters, Vickie Barton, Charmaine De Munda and Patricia Stevens, all of Henderson; two sisters, Clara Smith and Joyce Lewis, both of Spanish Fork, Utah; four brothers Earl Clayson, Sam Clayson and Keith Clayson, all of Spanish Fork,, and Frank Clayson of Idaho and Hawaii; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will hold private services. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., assisted with arrangements.

Joseph L. Cooper Jr.

Joseph L. Cooper Jr., 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 31, 1919, in New Mexico. A resident for 57 years, he was a public accountant and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; one son, David; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

John Herny Coronel

John Herny Coronel, 21, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 28, 1984, in the Philippines.

He is survived by two sisters, Jeannette Coronel and Gina Coronel; and one brother, Rowie Coronel.

Frederick M. Cummings

Frederick M. Cummings, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Texas. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired Metro Police officer, custodian and Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one son, Frederick III; two daughters, Jo Suzanne Stasiak and Rebecca Louise Livingston; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at St. George Anglican Church, 7676 W. Gilmore Ave. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 LasVegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

James Dennis

James Dennis, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 27, 1939, in Alabama. A resident for 30 years, he was an insurance agent for a casino and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Castellano; one son, Byron Dennis; two daughters, Yvette Kimberly Dennis Mosley and Adrienne Chapman; two sisters, Anna Mae Dennis and Ruby Dennis; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Richard E. Ferguson

Richard E. Ferguson, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Ida Grove, Iowa. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired city manager and a Vietnam War Navy and Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; four daughters, Cammy Von Rekowski, Megan Garvin and Mailene Hall, all of Las Vegas, and Tricia Kim Ferguson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; four sons, Richard J. Ferguson of Sioux Falls and Daniel Ferguson, Jared Ferguson and Richard A. Ferguson, all of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the LDS chapel at 5160 Lone Mountain Road. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

George D. Floyd

George D. Floyd, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A retired grocery store director and a Vietnam War Army veteran, he was born June 25, 1946, in Ventura, Calif.

He is survived by one son, Randy Floyd of Clovis, Calif.; one sister, Sharon Brown, and one brother, Robert Floyd, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Emma Jean Hand

Emma Jean Hand, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Denver. A resident for 25 years, she was a hotel guest room attendant.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy and Jane Ann; and two sons, Stephen and James.

Billie B. Hanson

Billie B. Hanson, 86, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 19, 1918, in Los Angeles. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired entertainer.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Hanson and Leslie Hanson, both of Henderson; one sister, Lorraine McIntyre of Ontario, Calif.; one brother, Richard Waite of Courtney, British Columbia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 43 W. Pacific Ave., Henderson.

Glen E. 'Sticks' Hill

Glen E. "Sticks" Hill, 47, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1957, in Greeley, Colo. A resident for nine years, he was a drummer with Big John Wills and the Family Tradition and many other groups.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia; his father, David Hill of Kailua, Hawaii; two brothers, Richard Hill of Calhan, Colo., and Andy Hill of Georgetown, Mass.; and two sisters, Kathi Hill of Eaton, Colo., and Joan Omansiek of Deltona, Fla.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

E. Marie Johnson

E. Marie Johnson, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Womble, Ark. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Johnson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in Oklahoma.

William G. Johnson

William G. Johnson, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Texas. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired sales representative.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; one son, David Sutton; two daughters, Angie Toohey and Eva Sutton; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

James Arthur Lange

James Arthur Lange, 77, of Henderson died Sunday. He was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Minneapolis. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired purchasing agent, a Korean War Air Force veteran, past exalted ruler at Henderson Green Valley Elks Lodge 2802, governor and member of Loyal Order of Moose for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Haven Lange.

He is survived by his wife, Martha "Marty"; two daughters, Susan Crandall of Long Beach, Calif., and Candice McPeak of Bellflower, Calif.; one son, Michael Crandall of Cedar City, Utah; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be 5 p.m. Sunday at Henderson/Green Valley Elks Lodge, 631 E. Lake Mead Parkway.

Dan Loney

Dan Loney, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born Aug. 3, 1952, in Smyrna, Tenn. A resident for seven years, he was an assistant general manager in the nuclear industry and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Debby; three daughters, Tiffani Feeley of Hillsboro, Mo., Stephanie Gonzales of Amarillo, Texas, and Jennifer Baker of Birmingham, Ala.; one son, Christopher Loney of Denver; one sister, Dianne Musick of Assumption, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mary L. Murphy

Mary L. Murphy, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Clarksdale, Miss. A resident for 12 years, she was a clinical assistant in the medical field.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita M. Franklin and Rosalind L. Glenn, and one son, Alphonso W. Glenn of Las Vegas; four sisters, Mildred L. Jones of Denver, Velma L. Mayweather of Sacramento, Gertrude Darby-Williams of Riverside, Calif., and Gwendolyn Green of Walnut, Calif.; one brother, Simual A. Green Jr. of Walnut; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Cecelia B. Stone

Cecelia B. Stone, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 29, 1928, in New Mexico. A resident for 55 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles B.; one son, Charles T. Stone; two daughters, Linda Lee Doty and Theresa Gomez; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Albert Swanis

Albert Swanis, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 4, 1917, in Cicero, Ill. A resident for 36 years, he was a taxicab driver.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne and David; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

William Vestal, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1951, in Upland, Calif. A resident for 35 years, he was a tow truck operator.

He is survived by three sisters, Teresa Vestal and Cheri Perlman, both of Las Vegas, and Linda Hoagley of Paradise, Calif.; and two brothers, Scott Vestal of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Kenny Vestal of Las Vegas.

Robert W. Wahl

Robert W. Wahl, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 9, 1924, in Lansing, Mich. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired accountant in the automotive industry, a World War II decorated Army veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mended Hearts and American Association of Retired Persons.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J.; two daughters, Kay Horton of Farmington, N.M., and Renee Smittle of Las Vegas; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosary will be 30 minutes prior to an 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Norman Whitmire Sr.

Norman Whitmire Sr., 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 13, 1938, in Missouri. A resident for 43 years, he was an inspector for the Clark County School District and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Norma J. Whitmire of California; two sons, Norman Whitmire Jr. of Virginia and Terrell Whitmire of North Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
