Allegiant, ATA plan new LV flights in April

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air and financially struggling ATA Airlines have announced new flights to and from Las Vegas.
ATA, which is operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, but earlier this week announced the second tier of a code-share agreement with Southwest Airlines through Phoenix, plans daily nonstop round trips between Honolulu and Las Vegas beginning April 3.
The new service is part of ATA's expansion of Hawaii flights, which will link Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix and Las Vegas with Honolulu, Maui, Lihue and Kona.
Allegiant announced Tuesday that it will offer flights twice a week between Las Vegas and Southern Illinois' MidAmerica St. Louis Airport.
The new service will be offered Mondays and Fridays beginning April 29.
