Chief exec gives $15 million

Sheldon and Miriam Adelson have made a contribution of $15 million to fund a proposed multigenerational community that Hebrew SeniorLife is planning on 162 acres in Dedham, Mass.

The campus will include senior housing, assisted living, long term care, short term acute care and a K-8 school.

Sheldon Adelson is chairman and chief executive of Las Vegas Sands Corp. as well as the company's majority shareholder. His wife, Miriam, is a medical doctor specializing in internal medicine and chemical dependency and has clinics in Israel and Las Vegas.

The Adelsons are active in the Las Vegas Jewish community and support many Jewish and non-sectarian organizations.

Hebrew SeniorLife, based in Boston, operates a network of senior care centers.
