UNLV senior forward Odartey Blankson was selected today to the all-Mountain West Conference first team for the second consecutive year.
Blankson, who's third in the conference in scoring and fifth in rebounding, was the only Rebel to be selected to the three all-conference squads. Guards Michael Umeh and Romel Beck and center Louis Amundson received honorable mention recognition.
Blankson was joined on the first team by Utah center Andrew Bogut, who was also named the conference player of the year, New Mexico forward Danny Granger, Wyoming guard Jay Straight and Utah guard Marc Jackson.
The second team consisted of Air Force center Nick Welch, Colorado State center Matt Nelson, Air Force guard Antoine Hood and the San Diego State sophomore duo of forward Marcus Slaughter and Brandon Heath.
