The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Thursday that the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League have recalled center Dustin Johner.
Johner leaves Las Vegas as the team's leading scorer with 22 goals and 26 assists for 48 points in 51 games played. Johner's 22 goals are a Wranglers single-season record for most in a season and rank fifth best in the ECHL among rookie scorers. He is fourth in the league among rookies in scoring and first among rookies in power-play goals (10) and points (23).
With Johner joining Dana Lattery in the AHL, the Wranglers will likely have 13 skaters for the game tonight in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads. Forward Jason Spence returned to Las Vegas to see the team doctor and center Jason Bonsignore is on family leave for the birth of his second child.
