OXFORD, Miss. -- Two people were convicted Thursday in federal court for a 2003 holdup of the Grand Casino Tunica in which the robbers claimed an empty honey bun box was a bomb.
U.S. Attorney Jim M. Greenlee said Kevis Wilson and Nataisha Joiner, both of Tunica County, were convicted by a jury in Oxford.
The two were among six people charged in the heist, which Wilson allegedly planned. The four others -- Jason Godown of Benton, Ky.; Linda Stevenson of Bay City, Mich.; Kim Jefferson of Memphis, Tenn.; and Marlon Talley of Horn Lake -- previously were convicted in the robbery.
Sentencing is pending for all of the defendants.
In the Sept. 30, 2003, robbery, Greenlee said a young woman identified as Stevenson placed a box on the counter in front of Joiner, a cashier, and warned it was a bomb.
