When I lived in New York state, lottery sellers received 5 cents for every dollar lottery ticket they sold. They also got a share of any large amount won.
Casinos should keep this in mind and realize that rather than competing for gambling dollars they could make a constant and substantial profit by selling the tickets themselves.
For every $100 worth of lottery tickets sold, there would be a five-spot in their pocket, with no downside. When you consider the slim margins that some table games give the house, lottery sales would be a winner for them. They should support a Nevada lottery.
