The Sands Regent is branching out from its Reno base to acquire two casinos in Dayton.
The company announced that it is buying the Depot Casino, which has 250 slot machines, two restaurants and two bars, and the Red Hawk Sports Bar, which has 33 slots and a convenience store and bar across the street from the Depot Casino in Dayton, a community about 10 miles east of Carson City.
The $10.2 million transaction includes $9.5 million in cash and about $665,000 in Sands Regent common stock. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.
The Sands Regent owns the 833-room Sands Regency Casino and Hotel in downtown Reno, the Gold Ranch Casino and RV Resort in Verdi and the Rail City Casino in Sparks.
