Florence G. Abbott

Florence G. Abbott, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 11, 1912, in Melrose, Mass. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John W. Wood of Las Vegas.

Gene A. Cabulong

Gene A. Cabulong, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 19, 1933, in the Philippines. A resident for many years, he was a distribution clerk at a casino.

He is survived by his wife, Angelita; two sons, Rey and Rudy; six daughters, Arvi, Mariane, Eleanor, Imelda, Elizabeth and Rosalie; one brother, Ponciano; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 4 p.m. service Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Gladys B. Douglas

Gladys B. Douglas, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Louisiana. A resident for 15 years, she was a beautician.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Bynum and Rosa Reagor, both of Las Vegas; six sons, Charlie Williams Jr. of Louisiana and Johnnie Williams, Terry Williams, Carl Williams, Michael Williams and Lonnie Marshall, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Ida Mae Williams of Los Angeles; two brothers, Willie Williams Jr. and Royal Williams, both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Irene Jackson, Bessie Proctor and Annie Gatlin, all of Las Vegas and Betty Yvonne Slaughter of Los Angeles; 44 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ, 2301 Comstock Drive. Burial will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Connie Gallegos

Connie Gallegos, 50, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born April 5, 1954, in Henderson. A lifelong resident, she was retired.

She is survived by four sisters, Benny Tinoco of Las Vegas, Frances Gallegos and Margaret Moya, both of Albuquerque, and Dolores Rael of Henderson; seven brothers, Danny Gallegos of Albuquerque, Henry Gallegos, Pete Gallegos and her twin brother Ronald Gallegos, all of Henderson, and Robert Gallegos, Abran Gallegos and Joe Gallegos, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday with a 5 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.

Elizabeth Alice Gilgan

Elizabeth Alice Gilgan, 89, of Amargosa Valley died Feb. 20 in Las Vegas.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Gilgan and Michael Gordon Gilgan, both of Las Vegas, and Robert Gilgan of Amargosa Valley; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The blessing of the grave will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Amargosa Valley Cemetery. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Helen O. Holowack

Helen O. Holowack, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a care center. She was born March 26, 1920, Simpson, Pa. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired hotel PBX operator.

She is survived by three sisters, Mitzi Verchick of Las Vegas, Irene Alexander of New York and Marion O'Neill of Pennsylvania.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 10 a.m. Mass Saturday in St. Gabriel Byzantine Catholic Church, 2250 E. Maule Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119-4607. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Jean Abbott Hughes

Jean Abbott Hughes, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Tijuana, Mexico. She was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Bunkerville. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker, an artist and president of the ladies garden club in Bunkerville.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nicholas Melvin; two sons, Nicholas M. Hughes Jr. of Tempe, Ariz., and Craig M. Hughes of Douglas, Ariz.; two daughters, Kathryn Gold of Burbank, Calif., and Rose Mary Hughes of Las Vegas; one sister, Rhodella Ostergaard of Boulder City; 20 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 12:30 p.m. service Saturday in the LDS Christy Lane and Harris Avenue chapel. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Bunkerville Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Sheila Ann Johnson

Sheila Ann Johnson, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1957, in Louisville, Ky. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Christopher Johnson; one daughter, Cassondra Brier; three brothers, Joe Oetken, Willie Oetken and Kenneth Oetken; and six sisters, Sheryl Oetken, Angela Stephenson, Sondra Oetken, Sonia Stephenson, Shawna Rivera and Serena Hackenburg.

Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling private arrangements.

Walter C. Kletzing

Walter C. Kletzing, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1910, in Bucks County, Pa. A resident for 53 years, he was a retired hotel manager, a member of the North Hollywood Masonic Lodge 542, Zelzah Shrine Temple of Las Vegas, Service Core of Retired Executives 243 Las Vegas, White Shrine of Jerusalem Las Vegas, Vegas Masonic Lodge 32 and the Pasadena, Calif., Consistery 32nd Degree.

He is survived by one sister, Irene Frederick of Perkasie, Pa.; one brother, Ernest Kletzing of Hatfield, Pa.; and his companion, Rose Stargrant, and one godson, Dennis Kemper, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Clare A. 'Chuck' Knapp

Clare A. "Chuck" Knapp, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 16, 1933, in New York. A resident for 24 years, he was a Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; one son, Dennis; three daughters, Yvonne, Gloria and Susan; one brother, Floyd; four sisters, Judy, Betty, Edith and Arlene; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. March 19 at College Park Baptist Church, 2101 E. Owens Ave. North Las Vegas Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Floy Belle Krumtum

Floy Belle Krumtum, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Monticello, Ark. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker and a member of Rebecca Lodge in Phoenix.

She is survived by one daughter, Virginia L. Perrin of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Todd W. Page

Todd W. Page, 63, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Sandwich, Ill. A resident for eight years, he was a commercial truck driver and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara A.; and two sons, Richard Page of Las Vegas and Todd Page of Westchester, Ill.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Zip L. Pinon

Zip L. Pinon, 91, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 26, 1913, in Spain. A resident for more than 60 years, he was a manager at Coca-Cola and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Rosemarie Conrad, Joyce Jones and Gloria Lee, all of Las Vegas; one son, Randy Hoopingarner of Eagle Point, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Frances Ptak

Frances Ptak, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born July 4, 1917, in Ridgewood, N.Y. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara M. Krall and Susan Ptak, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Dr. Charles J. Ptak Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Steven J. Ptak of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday with a 6 p.m. vigil at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Indian St. Jacques

Indian St. Jacques, 93, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1911, in Fort Lapwai, Idaho. A resident for 15 years, he was an engineer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Francine Campbell of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1350 E. Pebble Road, Henderson. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

James L. Walston

James L. Walston, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 3, 1925, in Aurora, Ind. A resident for eight years, he was a retired automotive inspector and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Walston and Bill E. Walston, both of Cincinnati; two sisters, Minnie Marie Goehring of Anna, Ill., and Helen Linton of Cincinnati; one sister-in-law, Jackie Conley of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Olimpia Whitten, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born June 12, 1930, in Havana. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired librarian.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W.; and one sister, Olga Vallier of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2:30 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Charles Edward Young

Charles Edward Young, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Mansfield, Ohio. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired senior technical writer in the aerospace industry at EG&G Energy Measurements and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lorana Souchkoff Young; one son, Nicholas Young of Las Vegas; and two brothers, James Young of Woodbine, Md., and Tom Young of Lexington, Ohio.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
