Request by pot consultant for license denied once again

The Clark County Commission has once again denied the request of a man to have a business license to be a pot consultant.

Pierre Werner of Las Vegas had tried without success to receive a "consultant license" from the Clark County Business License Department. He appealed the department's denial in January to the county commission.

The commission a year ago turned down Werner, who has an expired marijuana patient card under a state program allowing marijuana use for some medical conditions, for a similar license to be a consultant doing business as Primary Caregivers and Consultants.

Werner said Tuesday that under his new plan he would not be growing or selling marijuana but only providing a place to smoke it.

Several people who said they had medical problems eased by marijuana spoke for the issuance of the license.

Jacqueline Holloway, business licensing director, told the commission that the county does not have a type of license for marijuana consulting.
