Phone cards asked for overseas troops

Through the end of the month the Southern Nevada Chapter of American Red Cross will collect donated 100-minute phone cards for use by military personnel stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.

Once the donation drive ends, the phone cards are to be shipped directly to Red Cross offices located on military installations in the Middle East during April. Once the phone cards are received, the Red Cross officials in the countries will distribute them to members of the military.

The Red Cross has been informed that AT&T prepaid phone cards may have a smoother connection for the soldiers due to existing AT&T telephone operations in these countries.

Donations of phone cards can be mailed or delivered to the chapter office which is located at 1771 East Flamingo Road, Building B, Ste. 206.

For more information log onto www.redcrosslasvegas.org or call the local chapter at 791-3311.
