Lotto winner sued for child support

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Robert Swofford Jr. gave his ex-wife a part of his Florida Lotto winnings, now her sister wants some of it too.

Swofford, a postal worker from Seminole County, claimed his prize in January in a $34.7 million lump sum payout. He waited more than a month to claim the jackpot in order to first finalize his divorce.

Under their divorce settlement Swofford paid his wife Ann $5.25 million and $1 million will be set aside to support their 11-year-old son. In return, she agreed not to seek any more of Swofford's winnings. Swofford's take after taxes was about $16.75 million.

Now Mary Lackey, Ann's sister, wants money for her daughter. Swofford fathered children by both sisters in 1993.

Mary is suing Swofford in state Circuit Court in Sanford. She hopes to force Swofford to provide child support consistent with his income and net worth.

In 1993 Swofford was married, but not to either of the Lackey sisters.
