Letter: Bush is fiscally irresponsible

I'm writing about the column written by the Washington Post's David Broder that was published in your Feb. 27 edition. The column, headlined "The tab is coming due on Bush's spending," should be must reading for every American, including every member of Congress.

Broder laid out the economic problems created by the Bush administration -- problems that will haunt our nation for generations even should the problems be addressed by this Congress. Bush has made a charade of his so-called fiscal conservatism. His solution to the fiscal problems is to cut spending on the little guy while protecting his friends, supporters and Mr. Big.

It is time that both the conservative and liberal media spelled out the totality of the problem. Only then will Congress own up to its responsibility and take appropriate legislative action.
