Letter: Democrats must not deter Bush’s correct course
Thursday, June 30, 2005 | 8:53 a.m.
President Bush stated on Tuesday that we are protecting America by spreading freedom abroad and working to defeat those who focus blind hate on our country. He should have also noted that the Democrats focus blind hate on his administration. They cannot admit to any progress and work actively to undermine our wartime president to further their twisted political agenda.
The No. 1 Democrat in the Senate, Harry Reid, calls the president a liar and a loser. The No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, Richard Durbin, equates the U.S. military to Nazis. Sen. John Kerry writes a mindless, nonspecific, pabulum-filled, sour grapes-wrapped column attacking the president's policies before the president had even given his speech on Tuesday.
Democratic lust for power is so extreme that they would rather bring down this president and jeopardize American security rather than admit that we are on the right course. President Bush has chosen the right course, to adhere to a policy that spreads freedom around the world and that will result in a safer America.
