Holiday closings

Here's what is open and closed Monday, the Fourth of July:
Safety: Police and fire emergency services as usual. Administrative offices closed.
Utilities: Open: Sprint. Closed: Southwest Gas, Nevada Power, Las Vegas Valley Water District, Cox Communications cable TV.
Government: Closed: Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas, Clark County, state, courts, federal offices, federal courthouse.
Schools: Closed, no classes: Clark County School District year-round elementary schools, Community College of Southern Nevada, UNLV.
Mail: Closed, no deliveries.
Newspaper: Sun in combined morning editions with Review-Journal. Sun offices closed.
Transit: Downtown Transportation Center: Open. City Ride natural gas buses: holiday schedule (one less vehicle in operation). Citizens Area Transit: Buses on holiday/weekend schedule (fewer buses on fixed routes).
Libraries: Closed: Las Vegas-Clark County District, North Las Vegas District, Henderson District, Boulder City District.
Garbage: Republic Services pickups as usual.
Matrimony: The Marriage License Bureau will be open 8 a.m. Friday to midnight Monday.
Financial: Closed: Most banks, brokerage firms. (Note: State law allows banks to open on holidays as long as transactions are posted to the next business day. Check your local branch for holiday hours.)
Parking: City metered parking spaces are free on Monday.
