A 45-year-old Las Vegas man was sentenced Thursday to 17 1/2 years in federal prison for his alleged role in a large methamphetamine dealing ring, authorities said.
Heriberto Buendia was arrested in July 2004 as a result of a federal, state and local drug enforcement effort dubbed Operation Ice House.
He was taken into custody after trying to sell methamphetamine for $48,000 to a North Las Vegas police officer, Daniel Bogden, United States Attorney for the District of Nevada said.
Authorities have also charged 11 people with drug offenses and conspiracy in connection with the alleged drug dealing ring.
