Mary Dutton Park at 8th Street and Charleston Boulevard is another waste of money on art by the city of Las Vegas. It no longer is a park, but a desert landscape. This natural beauty, however, was spoiled by the addition of a 14-foot-high sculpture of a plow and water.
Art should never be placed in an unprotected environment. Taggers have left their calling cards; the sculpture will be either damaged or destroyed.
Hey, maybe they can spend $19 million to bring those Central Park "sheets" to us. It wouldn't surprise me as, after all, they've already put manufactured "paintings" high up on light poles!
