'Family Movie Night
Las Vegas presents a "Family Movie Night" at 8 p.m. today at Gibson Community School, 3990 W. Washington Ave. Admission is $5 per family, and bring lawn chairs or blankets. 229-5096.
Barn dance
Las Vegas presents an "Old Time Barn Dance" from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center Ballroom, 800 S. Brush St. Admission is $6 adults, $5 members, $3 students and active military, free for children under 15. 229-6383.
Book signing
Local author Michele Veillon will sign copies of her book, "Shelby and the Shifting Rings," from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at 8915 W. Charleston Blvd. Admission is free. 242-1987.
Folk festival
Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel and the Mexico Vivo Dance Company present the second annual International Folk Festival at the following locations this week:

Summer program
The North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, offers its Saturday Summer Program at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Activities will include crafts, stories and guest programs. Admission is free. 633-1070.
