In a June 17 story in the Sun, the Associated Press reported that Dean Schwartzmiller, a convicted child molester jailed in California, may have committed sex crimes against thousands of victims. In May San Jose police seized notebooks and computers from Schwartzmiller's home that contained more than 36,000 entries, including boys' names and codes which may indicate sexual acts or other descriptions. However, the story should have made clear that police do not know the number of alleged victims or molestations.
