Powers resigns from agency

Rob Powers, vice president of community relations for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, resigned from the agency over the weekend, a convention authority spokeswoman said today.
Powers was arrested June 9 in Las Vegas on charges of drunken driving and crashing his vehicle into a parked police motorcycle. Both vehicles hit a policeman standing nearby, according to a police report.
