Violet M. Byrd

Violet M. Byrd, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Jonesboro, Ark. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired sales clerk and a member of the Ungava chapter 106 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Louise Phillian of Palm Desert, Calif.; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Myrna Byrd of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Michael D. Caron

Michael D. Caron, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 9, 1937, in Los Angeles. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired floorman in the gaming industry and a Navy veteran.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Conyers Davis

Margie Conyers Davis, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Texas. A resident for 10 years, she was a technical illustrator in the aerospace industry.

She is survived by one son, Eddie Payne of Lawrence, Kan.; one daughter, Sandra Wilkus; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was 2 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Laura Ellen Ellis

Laura Ellen Ellis, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1913, in Ellenboro, W.Va. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired restaurant food manager.

She is survived by seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Viator's Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Verdell

Green-Arnold

Verdell Green-Arnold, 52, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 29, 1953, in Jackson, Miss. A resident for 42 years, she was a child care worker.

She is survived by two sons, Mitchell Green and MarQuice Duncan, and two daughters, Anjoli Graham and LaShana Graham, all of North Las Vegas; four sisters, Rosetta Green and Pearlena Turner, both of Las Vegas, Louetta Taylor of North Las Vegas and Roberta Cole of Pittsburg, Calif.; one brother, Joe Nathan Green of North Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Macedonia Baptist Church, 2600 Clayton St., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Reese Gregg

Spencer Reese Gregg, 4, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 2000, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Kerry and Adam Gregg, one brother, Justin Gregg, one sister, Brittney Kozuch, and his grandparents, Rose Sinclair, Ronald Kozuch and John and Debbie Gregg, all of Las Vegas; and his great-grandparents, Erma Gundy and Loretta Kozuch, both of Michigan and Louis and Bonnie Benback of Redwood Valley, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 5-9 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Catholic Church, 6010 Smoke Ranch Road. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Frank R. Hardy

Frank R. Hardy, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 16, 1924, in San Fernando, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge F&AM and active in the Arville House with the Veterans Administration.

He is survived by two sons, Jay Hardy of North Las Vegas and Michael Hardy of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

The family suggests donations to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Arville House, 1501 S. Arville St., Las Vegas, NV 89102.

Earl Louis Hartley Jr.

Earl Louis Hartley Jr., 56, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1948, in Jacksonville, Fla. A resident for 17 years, he was a customs broker and a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; two sons, Earl Louis Hartley III and Adam Kyle Hartley, and one daughter, Katherine Renee Hartley, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Pamela Helgren

Pamela Helgren, 24, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 17, 1980, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 13 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by her parents, Poppy and Peter Helgren, five brothers, Trever Helgren, Heath Helgren, Hayden Helgren, Hunter Helgren and Holden Helgren, and two sisters, Bonnie Stewart and Heather Helgren, all of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the Pebble Canyon Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Raquel Hendley

Patricia Raquel Hendley, 13, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1991, in Barstow, Calif. A resident for two years, she was a middle school student.

She is survived by her mother, Sherri Lynn Hendley of Las Vegas; two sisters, Audra Lee Hendley of Las Vegas and Michelle Gallistel of Yermo, Calif.; one brother, Richard Melvin Hendley IV of Yermo; and her grandparents, Tommy L. and Gyde M. Holland of Anacortes, Wash.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Jesse Jaime

Jesse Jaime, 22, of Henderson died June 15 in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1983, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a Marine Corps corporal serving in Iraq and a 2001 Chaparral High School graduate.

He is survived by his parents, Ricardo and Iliana Jaime, and one brother, Joel Jaime, all of Henderson; one half-sister, Yenevy Jaime of Miami; and one half-brother, Ricardo Andre Jaime of Havana.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. today until 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Graveside services will follow at noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Gary Lee Lavoll

Gary Lee Lavoll, 28, of Las Vegas died June 12 in Las Vegas. He was born May 15, 1977, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a warehouse furniture employee.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Reece of North Las Vegas; his father, Marcus Johnson, five brothers, Melvin Reece, Clintton Reece, Jamar Holman, Degariaus Bryant and Marquize Bryant, nine sisters, Lashaunda Reece, Danielle Redic, Zquria Wheeler, Lakeshia Thomas, Nicole Jackson, Shawntae Maulvin, Jessica Waters, Kendra Lett and Margo Johnson, and his grandparents, Elijah Lavoll and Margrett Coleman, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, 1072 W. Bartlett Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ivy J. Porter

Ivy J. Porter, 80, of Henderson died Sunday. She was born June 11, 1925, in Elk Point, Alberta. A resident for one year, she was a nurse for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; and one daughter, Renee Warnecke of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. A Mass celebration will be noon Wednesday in St. Peters Church, Pacifica, Calif. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

George M. Robinson

George M. Robinson, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Texas. A resident for 16 years, he was a middle manager for a custodial business and a veteran.

He is survived by one son, George Robinson, and one daughter, Kyttrick Robinson, both of California; one sister, Margaret Jennins of Texas; and three grandchildren.

Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Gordon A. Worthington

Gordon A. Worthington, 82, of Boulder City died Friday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Hamilton, Ontario. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired gun room manager for a movie production company.
