Las Vegan honored as top lawyer

SUN CAPITAL BUREAU

CARSON CITY -- A Las Vegas attorney who has had more than 70 trials, with most of them involving complex injury cases, will be honored as the Nevada Trial Lawyer of the Year.

Robert T. Eglet will receive his honor June 28 at the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association "Sine Die Gala" dinner celebrating the close of the Nevada Legislature. Eglet is incoming president of the association.

The association said Carmen Cashman of Las Vegas will be honored as Consumer Advocate of the Year. She was a major supporter of proposed constitutional amendments on the 2004 election ballot involving construction defects and insurance rates. Both questions were defeated.

William "Bud" Bradley will be honored with the association's Lifetime Achievement Award. He has been a practicing lawyer in Nevada for more than 45 years.
