Letter: Dancing is far in new judge’s past

Your June 8 headline regarding the election of Diana Hampton to the Henderson Municipal Court bench was totally uncalled for. Rather than, "Ex-topless dancer is elected to the bench," it would have been more acceptable to read: "Former prosecutor elected."

Her past, temporary work as a dancer and bartender was necessitated by financial need to complete her education and should not be continuously thrown back in her face.

Do you intend to start every future reference to Judge Hampton's court actions with the same lead, as in "Former topless dancer Judge Diana Hampton today ..."?
