Camp would help latch-key kid

A mother writes that she would love to send her son to summer camp even though she never had the experience. She thinks camp would help to keep him on the right track.
"It's hard going to work every day knowing your child is a latch-key kid," she wrote. "(I) hope he's hanging around the right kids."
She asked the Las Vegas Sun Camp Fund to help make "a great kid become a better kid."
For 25 years the fund has provided scholarships for children who want to go to camp. All donations sent to the fund go directly toward a child's camp experience. Last year the fund sent 700 children to camp.
