John R. Foremaster

John R. Foremaster, 79, of Boulder City died Monday in a local care center. He was born July 15, 1925, in Lincoln County. A lifelong Nevada resident, he retired in 1981 as deputy chief after 30 years of service with the Metropolitan Police Department, was a noted local artist of acrylic and oil paintings, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Boulder City Art Guild.

He is survived by one daughter, Johneen Foremaster-Creathbaum of Boulder City; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Sunrise Specialty Center, Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, 3186 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

Steven N. Funk

Steven N. Funk, 43, of Phoenix died June 9 in Phoenix. He was born Nov. 9, 1961, in Ventura, Calif. A resident for four years, he was an insurance adjuster.

He is survived by two daughters, Erynne Funk and Hillary Funk, both of Phoenix; one son, Jacob Funk of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his mother, Tula Hilfer of Las Vegas; his father, Morris Funk, and one brother, Steven F. Funk, both of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one sister, Sandra Pineda of Las Vegas.

King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, handled arrangements.

John P. Gerardi Sr.

John P. Gerardi Sr., 80, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born May 7, 1925, in Washington, D.C. A resident for nine years, he was a retired police officer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; two daughters, Cheryl Chalmers of Norfolk, Va., and Dawn Enourato of Clarksburg, W.Va.; one son, John P. Gerardi Jr. of Henderson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jack Gum

Jack Gum, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 4, 1924, in Los Angeles. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired sales agent for an oil field supplies company, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post 88.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Lee Gum of Las Vegas and Christopher Lee Gum and Doulgas Lee Gum, both of Cave Creek, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Bethanne Irwin

Bethanne Irwin, 10, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 2, 1995, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a student at First Good Shepherd Lutheran School.

She is survived by her mother, Sarah Irwin of Henderson.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Joseph E. Jager

Joseph E. Jager, 77, of Henderson died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 21, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a retired machinist supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalia Magris; one son, Edward Jager of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.

William Kaitschuck

Randy William Kaitschuck, 18, of Las Vegas died June 8 in Las Vegas. He was born March 20, 1987, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a student and varsity tackle at Silverado High School.

He is survived by his mother, Saretha Kaitschuck of Freeport, Ill.; his father, Raymond Kaitschuck of Henderson; two brothers, Raymond Kaitschuck III of Las Vegas and Kevin Kaitschuck of Freeport; one sister, Krista Kaitschuck of Freeport; his grandfather, Lambert Jacobs of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Katherine Kaitschuck of Hanover Park, Ill.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

John R. Kinsinger

John R. Kinsinger, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 18, 1921, in Bloomington, Ill. A resident for 42 years, he was a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Agriculture and University of Illinois Law School, admitted to the Illinois bar in 1950, was a retired special agent for the FBI and a deputy district attorney in Clark County and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Suzy; one brother, Kenneth Kinsinger of Richmond, Va.; and four sisters, Kathryn Bayston of Pontiac, Ill., Mary Chase of Portland, Ind., Margaret Dell of Tallahassee, Fla., and Josephine Vereler of Chenoa, Ill.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jack Shield

Jack Shield, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. A banquet server and a veteran of the Royal Rifle Division of the British Army in England, he was born Dec. 6, 1930.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; one son, Martin Shield; four sisters, Evelyn Owens, Joan Leadbitter, Maureen Goodwin and Norma Hassinger.

A celebration of life will be 4-6 p.m. June 29 in Heritage Square Clubhouse, 3690 Cannon Circle. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Orion Hunter Lee Zindle

Orion Hunter Lee Zindle, 2 months old, died Monday. He was born April 5, 2005, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Joanne and Ed Zindle III, one sister, Melanie Zindle, and one brother, Draven Zindle, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Julie and Ed Zindle Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y., and Imelda and Demetrio Fajardo of Las Vegas; and his great-grandparents, Patricia and Ed Zindle Sr. of Buffalo.

Visitation is private. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
