Margery Tanner Babcock

Margery Tanner Babcock, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 6, 1925, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 63 years, she was a hospital dietician.

She is survived by one son, Gilbert Babcock; two sisters, Edna Singleton and Norma Christensen, and one brother, Guy Tanner, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

'Honey' Burchick

Josephine Gloria "Honey" Burchick, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born April 6, 1929, in Creighton, Pa. A resident for many years, she worked in Dunlaps, Ted Jacobs and the Ford plant and sang in the church choir.

She is survived by her companion of 23 years, Val Menchaca; three sons, Joseph Peter of Shreveport, La., James Michael of Las Vegas and Jeffery Allen of Henderson; two sisters, Mary Proietti of Tarentum, Pa., and Marcella Baird of Marienville, Pa.; one brother, Merino Pesi of Leesburg, Va.; one stepbrother, Joseph Pesi of Erie, Pa.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Darnell Hines

Rosevelt Darnell Hines, 33, of Las Vegas died June 2 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 24, 1971, in New York. A resident for 20 years, he was a car attendant for a rental car company.

He is survived by one daughter, Katrina Hines, his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Tim Shaw, and two sisters, Angela Hines and Kandise Shaw, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Alma Jean Holbert

Alma Jean Holbert, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 31, 1952, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Wesley; three daughters, Yolanda Butler and Stephenie Poole, both of North Las Vegas and Lena Holbert of New York state; one son, Wesley Holbert, her mother, Alma Boykins, and three brothers, James Boykins Jr., Edward Boykins and Mitchell Boykins, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Paulette "Joyce" Lacno, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1944, in Hoolehua, Hawaii. A resident for eight years, she was a bookkeeper for an automobile company.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Sr.; two daughters, Andrea Lacno of Houston and Johnette Ellis of Maui, Hawaii; two sons, Michael Lacno Jr. and Paul Lacno, both of Maui; her mother, Fujie Arinoki of Molokai, Hawaii; one brother, Ted Tokuoka; three sisters, Diane Akina, Trudy Lacno and Cheryl Tokuoka; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Sue MacKay

Catherine Sue MacKay, 59, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Chicago. A resident for 47 years, she was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union.

She is survived by one son, Michael MacKay of California; and her parents, Niel and Louise Butori of Las Vegas.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Vicki Mitchell

Johnnye Vicki Mitchell, 71, of Henderson died Thursday in a local care center. She was born June 12, 1933, in Winchester, Tenn. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired race and sports book ticket writer.

She is survived by one daughter, Tanya K. Adair of Henderson; and one grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Helen S. Rosenfeld

Helen S. Rosenfeld, 82, of Laguna Woods, Calif., died May 30 in Laguna Woods. She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Martins Ferry, Ohio. A former Las Vegas resident for many years, she retired from the Las Vegas Hilton after 19 years of employment and was active in various clubs in Laguna Woods.

She is survived by one daughter, Catherine Tavan Asher; one son, Robert Rosenfeld; two sisters; two brothers; and five grandchildren.

Neptune Society, 758 West 19 St., Costa Mesa, Calif., handled arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Jack Shield

Jack Shield, 74, of Las Vegas died June 29 in a local hospice. A banquet server and a veteran of the Royal Rifle Division of the British Army in England, he was born Dec. 6, 1930.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; one son, Martin Shield; four sisters, Evelyn Owens, Joan Leadbitter, Maureen Goodwin and Norma Hassinger.

A celebration of life will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday in Heritage Square Clubhouse, 3690 Cannon Circle. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
