Fred S. Barczak
Fred S. Barczak, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. A retired meat inspector for a military commissary and a World War II Army veteran, he was born July 4, 1917, in Amsterdam, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Fred A. of Las Vegas; one sister, Alice of Massachusetts; and one brother, Adolph of New York state.
Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be follow at noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Felton Childress
Felton Childress, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A resident for 10 years, he was born April 25, 1931, in Cook County, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; six sons, Felton D. Childress of Georgia, Stanley Childress of Greenland, Glen Childress and Jeffery Childress, both of Illinois, Kenny Childress of Mississippi and Greg Fitzgerald of Las Vegas; one daughter, Lorna Khawaja of Illinois; four brothers, William Childress and Robert Childress, both of Illinois, Jerome Childress of Las Vegas and Lawrence Childress of Mississippi; two sisters, Irene Jamison of Las Vegas and Felicia Childress of Illinois; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greater Mount Sinai Christian Church, 1025 Balzar St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Amparo Cruz
Amparo Cruz, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in the Philippines. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Eduardo; four sons; one daughter; her father, Luis Canon; and her mother, Damiana Polido.
Services will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Elayne Felt
Elayne Felt, 79, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born April 6, 1926, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas W.; one son, Thomas P. Felt, and two daughters, Corby Roberts and Shauna Tuitama, all of Las Vegas; and 13 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Tammy Lynn Glen-Tauber
Tammy Lynn Glen-Tauber, 43, of Henderson died May 28 in Las Vegas. She was born May 1, 1962, in California. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Elan; two sons, Tony Glen and Shane Tauber; one daughter, Tiffani Dampf; her father and stepmother, Robert and Betty Glen; one brother, Rex Allen; and one sister, Elizabeth Kane.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Laila Leavitt Lombard
Laila Leavitt Lombard, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born June 10, 1937, in St. George, Utah. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Wayman W.; two daughters, Stephani L. Johnson and Kelly D. Lombard, and one son, Jody S. Lombard, all of Las Vegas; four sisters; three brothers; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Santiago Limpin Magat
Santiago Limpin Magat, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Pampanga, Philippines. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired elementary school teacher.
He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn M. Canilao of Las Vegas and Nitz M. Jajalla of Blainsboro, N.J.; one brother, Peter Magat; four sisters, Lor Magat, Pining Buan, Sol Ocampo and Miling Arceo; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Deborah L. Slater
Deborah L. Slater, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born July 9, 1949, in Van Buren, Ark. A resident for two years, she was a retail supervisor.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas "T.J."; two daughters, Jennifer Werhas and Destinni Mardesich; three sisters, Paula Molta, Linda Grey and Marianne Morrett; one brother, J.R. Howard; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
