Issac William Barnes

Issac William Barnes, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1938, in Mississippi. A resident for 43 years, he was a hotel cook.

He is survived by one daughter, Dionne Langley of Las Vegas; five sons, Sean Barnes, Michael Feider, Glenn Barnes and Rene Hilburn, all of Las Vegas, and Medearl Hilburn of Hawaii; his mother, Lillian Barnes, four brothers, Major Barnes, Noel Barnes, Starling Barnes and Shelton Barnes, all of Las Vegas; six sisters, Mary Reed, Irma McGee, Geraldine Barnes and Charline Watson, all of Las Vegas, and Josephine Honer and Lillian Barnes, both of New Orleans; and many grandchildren.

Services will be 1-7 p.m. Monday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Salvatore Bellia

Salvatore Bellia, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 10 1/2 years, he was a retired Army private first class and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rose S.; one daughter, Marilyn Conforti of Portland, Ore.; four brothers, Anthony Bellia, Frank Bellia, Tom Bellia and John Bellia; one sister, Mary Scaturro; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Josephine Katherine Davis

Josephine Katherine Davis, 84, of Boulder City died June 3 in a local care center. She was born May 13, 1921, in Pasadena, Calif. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired Clark County librarian and member of Beta Sigma Phi.

She is survived by one son, Michael Davis of Fresno, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia Balis of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Rebecca Blair-Mushkin of Boulder City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A vigil will be 6 p.m. Monday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Walter Irving Hutner

Walter Irving Hutner, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 31, 1919, in The Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired commercial food service equipment salesman and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Glenn Hutner of Glen Head, N.Y., and Keith Hutner of Las Vegas; two daughters, Joan Cerruti and Debbie Shellard, both of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Lota Katherine Kapono

Lota Katherine Kapono, 63, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1941, in Eau Claire, Wis. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ambrose S.; four sons, David A. Kapono of Rockland, Calif., and Michael J. Kapono, Thomas A. Kapono and Daniel M. Kapono, all of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Susan J. Kessler

Susan J. Kessler, 58, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born March 25, 1947, in South Dakota. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired electronics assembler.

She is survived by one daughter, Robyne R. MacAvoy of Sacramento; three sons, Dave Halseth of Arizona, Richard Hurst of Las Vegas and Michael Hurst of Washington State; one sister, Vicki K. Horiuchi of Aberdeen, Wash.; three brothers, Reginald Halseth and Richard Halseth, both of Montana, and Ken Halseth of Seattle; and four grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Richard E. LaRoche

Richard E. LaRoche, 61, of Las Vegas died June 2 in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1944, in Longview, Wash. A resident for eight months, he was a retired chief financial officer for a nonprofit organization and a member of the Peace Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Nimi; one daughter, Chimene LaRoche of Boston; and his mother, Phoebe LaRoche of Santa Barbara, Calif.

A memorial service date is pending. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Calvin C. Lightner

Calvin C. Lightner, 74, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born May 9, 1931, in Blackstock, S.C. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired aircraft mechanic and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nina; three sons, Willie Drummer of Washington state, James Hon of LaMirada, Calif., and Richard Hon of Medford, Ore.; one daughter, Gloria Lightner of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Dallas D. Neal

Dallas D. Neal, 77, of Beaver Dam, Ky., died June 1 in Beaver Dam. He was born Nov. 9, 1927, in McLean County, Ill. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an owner-operator of D&M Carpets and Flooring, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Eagles and Moose and was a mentor for the Big Brothers of America.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Struffer-Neal.

He is survived by two brothers, Lee Autice Neal of Louisville, Ky., and Harris Neal of Island, Ky.

Services will be in Beaver Dam. Burial will be 12:40 Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is handling arrangements.

Davis A. 'Tony' Nizzi

Davis A. "Tony" Nizzi, 50, of Searchlight died Monday in North Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 18, 1954, in Englewood, Colo. A resident for 18 years, he was a miner.

He is survived by his mother, Nellie M. Miller of Kingman, Ariz.; his stepfather, Thomas G. Miller of Macos, Colo.; and two brothers, Thomas O. Miller of Searchlight and Terry L. Miller of Salida, Colo.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Searchlight Bible Church, 301 N. Highway 95, Searchlight. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Beatrice Olson

Beatrice Olson, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 5, 1922, in New York state. A resident for 17 years, she was an owner-operator of a hotel management accounting company.

She is survived by two nieces, Cheryl Ammon and Jackie Coffman; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2-3 p.m Tuesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Velton J. Queen Sr.

Velton J. Queen Sr., 79, of North Las Vegas died June 2 in a local hospital. He was born July 6, 1925, in Vicksburg, Miss. A resident for 41 years, he was an Army staff sergeant and World War II and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary L.; and one son, Velton J. Queen Jr. of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Mountaintop Faith Ministries, 2850 S. Lindell Road. Graveside services will be noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Ladislao B. Torres

Ladislao B. Torres, 87, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born June 27, 1917, in the Philippines. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hotel porter and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita A.; three daughters, Raquel Viado and Minda Esteban, both of Las Vegas, and Edna Martinez of North Las Vegas; four sons, Marlon Torres of Silverdale, Wash., Nelson Torres of Japan, Walter Torres of Temecula, Calif., and George Torres of Round Lake, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-7 p.m. with a 5:30 vigil Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Bernard Walsh

Bernard Walsh, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1934, in New York City. A resident for nine years, he was a retired truck driver, a Marine Corps veteran and member of the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Lorraine Burdett of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Danny Walsh and Martin Walsh, both of New York City.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Roger C. Wolfe

Roger C. Wolfe, 78, of Las Vegas died June 3 in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1927, in Madison, Wis. A resident for 44 years, he was a retired hotel bellman and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Galia of Pahrump; one sister, Deloris Cardinal of Carson City; and one grandchild.
