Grocery stores back food bank

Wednesday, June 8, 2005 | 8:45 a.m.

Food 4 Less will offer customers an opportunity to help in the fight to end hunger by giving to their local America's Second Harvest affiliated food bank.

Throughout the month of June, all Clark County Food 4 Less stores are offering customers and employees the opportunity to make monetary donations to help feed hungry families.

From June 2 to June 30, customers can support local America's Second Harvest affiliated food banks by donating their spare change in collection canisters located at the check stands at their neighborhood Food 4 Less store.

All monies collected will go directly to local food banks, including the Community Food Bank of Clark County.

In addition to funds collected through its Hunger Awareness campaign, Food 4 Less donated nearly 3 million pounds of food in 2004 to America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization food bank.
