Pregnant women sought for study

The UNLV Maternal Health Lab is currently recruiting participants for a study on pregnancy hormones, mood, and memory.

The purpose of the study is to identify early markers of postpartum depression.

To be eligible, individuals must meet these requirements:

The study, conducted at either the Maternal Health Lab or the individual's home, involves psychologically assessing women at 37 weeks of pregnancy and within the first 10 days after birth. Each session generally last about an hour.

Lecture planned on breast lumps

As part of Southern Hills Hospital's "Lunch and Learn" series, Dr. Stuart Engel will host a lecture entitled "I Found a Lump in My Breast" 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, 9300 W. Sunset Road.

Meant to help women cope with the emotional turmoil of finding a lump in their breast, Engel's seminar will teach you more about the various causes of breast lumps, and help you determine whether you should seek further medical treatment.
