Isn't it interesting that when President Clinton went along with the base-closing plan Dick Cheney developed when he was secretary of defense under George H. W. Bush, conservatives went blue in the face calling him a traitor.
Yet now that George W. Bush has gotten us into a quagmire in Iraq with no way to pay for the upkeep, conservatives are trying to sell us on the notion that cutting funding for military bases (but not in Texas, of course) is just the ticket for funding the war on terrorism.
The Republicans need to change their party acronym from GOP to GOPOH -- the Grand Old Party of Hypocrisy.
