LV airline adds Midwest routes
Thursday, June 2, 2005 | 11:05 a.m.
Sports fans will get a new way to jet to the homes of two storied teams later this year.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air will begin offering nonstop flights twice a week to Green Bay, Wis., beginning July 28, and to South Bend, Ind., beginning Aug. 5.
Allegiant will operate flights on 150-seat twin-engine MD-80 series jets on Thursdays and Sundays to Green Bay, home of the NFL Green Bay Packers, and on Mondays and Fridays to South Bend, home of the University of Notre Dame. The airline is increasing its fleet to accommodate the new routes.
Flights will leave McCarran International Airport at 7:20 a.m., arriving in Green Bay at 12:50 p.m., and depart from Green Bay's Austin Straubel International Airport at 1:30 p.m., with a 3:25 Las Vegas arrival.
Flights to South Bend also will leave at 7:20 a.m., arriving at South Bend Regional Airport at 1 p.m., and return at 1:40 p.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 3:40 p.m.
