William James Baugh

William James Baugh, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday. He was born Nov. 9, 1939, in Arizona. He was an automobile mechanic, an Air Force veteran and a member of the V-8 Car Club and Model A Car Club.

He is survived by his wife, Cathalina; two sons, James Baugh of Las Vegas and Steven Baugh of Missouri; two daughters, Mary Lisa Baugh of Las Vegas and Adurie Bergman of North Las Vegas.

Jennifer Ashworth Darata

Jennifer Ashworth Darata, 33, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 16, 1971, in the Philippines. A resident for nine years, she was a caregiver.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons, David and Joseph; her mother, Elvira; two brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Desert Hills Baptist Church, 4401 S. Nellis Blvd. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

William Diggins

William Diggins, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 25, 1938, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 28 years, he was a security officer and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by four sons, David Ortegel, Paul Ortegel, James Diggins and William M. Diggins; five daughters, Lorie Schmitt, Patricia Ortegel, Elizabeth Diggins-Holland, Donna Billie Jo Ackley and Amanda Diggins; one sister, Elizabeth Arquette; and 14 grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Edward Fannin

Edward Fannin, 75, of Las Vegas died May 16 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Kentucky. A resident for 35 years, he was a general contractor and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jo; four daughters, Brenda, Kathy, Gail and Cindy; one brother, Sam; seven sisters, Lou, Pauline, Nell, Ilene, Pat, Hannah and Lois; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Maude G. Gishwiller

Maude G. Gishwiller, 85, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. She was born July 26, 1919, in Minden, Neb. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired motel owner-operator.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; three daughters, Ann Gishwiller of Portland, Ore., Dona Quimby of Kohler, Wis., and Connie Meng of Heber City, Utah; one son, Leonard Warner of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Joseph Castro Manglona

Joseph Castro Manglona, 50, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1954, in Rota, Guam. A resident for five months, he was a retail warehouseman.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine; five sons, Roman Racela of Huntington Beach, Calif., Raymond Racela of Anchorage, Alaska, Ronald Racela of Marysville, Wash., and Richard Racela and Reginald Racela, both of Chula Vista, Calif.; his mother, Emilia Manglona of Rota; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday and 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2575 W. El Campo Grande, North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Celedonio Mendoza

Celedonio Mendoza, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Tucson. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired tour bus driver, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; one son, Celedonio Mendoza of Salisbury, N.C.; two daughters, Diane Mendoza and Josephine Mendoza, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Matthew Novack

Matthew Novack, 18, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. A student, he was born Aug. 6, 1986, in Henderson.

He is survived by his father, Grant Novack of San Francisco; his mother, Julie Novack, and one sister, Sarah Novack, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Arlo Quill

Arlo Quill, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Bismarck, N.D. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired FBI special agent and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Del; one son, Ted Quill of Las Vegas; one daughter, Judie Quill of Denver; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave.

Gary A. Radford

Gary A. Radford, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Cedar City, Utah. He was born July 12, 1941, in Orange County, Calif. A resident for many years, he was the CEO of a dental management corporation and a philanthropist who used to carry around sleeping bags to give to any person he thought was homeless.

He is survived by his wife, Tonya; four daughters, Robin Branson, Amy Radford, Deidre Radford and Courtney Lefkowitz; two sons, Tony Radford and Justin Lefkowitz; one sister, Eva Love; one brother, Ron Radford; and eight grandchildren.

Gary's hoopla will be 6 p.m. today at 3150 Wigwam Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., assisted with arrangements.

The family suggests donations to be given anonymously to men, women and children standing on street corners and sleeping in alleys.

Edgardo Morin Sanchez Sr.

Edgardo Morin Sanchez Sr., 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 27, 1932, in Mexico. A resident for 15 years, he was a construction laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Lois A.; three sons, Edgardo M. Sanchez Jr., Angel and Raymond; two daughters, Sherrie and Patty; one sister, Melita; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3:30 p.m. service Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Art 'A.J.' Schuetze

Art "A.J." Schuetze, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a vacuum and sewing machine company and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; one son, Damian Schuetze, one daughter, Tamara Edmondson, and one sister, Debbie Carr, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Frank Schuetze of Las Vegas and Greg Damery of Florida; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 6 p.m. vigil Thursday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Charles Smith

Charles Smith, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. A retired chemist and World War II Army veteran, he was born Nov. 7, 1920, in Page, N.D.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian; and one daughter, Janet Pettit of Henderson.

Mary L. Stern

Mary L. Stern, 78, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Jane Lew, W.Va. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Rifle Association.

She is survived by three sons, Jason Stern of Saugus, Calif., Joshua Stern of San Diego and Jeff Stern of Llano, Calif.; one brother, Joseph Lightburn Jr., and one sister, Frances Grossman, both of Jane Lew; and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jerry Szabo

Jerry Szabo, 70, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 19, 1934, in Flint, Mich. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired automotive general manager.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three sons, Neil Szabo of Swartz Creek, Mich., James Szabo of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Michael Szabo of Brighton, Mich.; and two daughters, Denise Szabo of Jersey City, N.J., and Anne Smedley of Boca Raton, Fla.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson.

William Robert Wise Sr.

William Robert Wise Sr., 61, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Florida. A resident for 22 years, he was a courier and an Army paratrooper with the 5th Special Forces.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; three sons, William R. Wise Jr., Michael Wise and Robert Earl Wise; one daughter, Yasmin; his mother, Thelma L. Baker; his father, William E. Wise; four brothers, James Wagner, Kenneth Wise, Steve Wise and Gary Baker; two sisters, Barbara Phillips and Patricia Harrison; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-5 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.
